General Info

Originating from the desert oasis to the south, they were given the name 'Thunder Birds' because they are a habit of singing long, beautiful songs just before thunder storms occur. They also tend to live in areas where storms happen often and their breeding season is during the storm season. They have loud calls as well as a beautiful song. They can't speak and aren't sentient, however they are quite intelligent - a much desired pet among the rich as most have an even temperaments and are easy to train.

Appearance
In size they range from cat or parrot size to three times that, with wingspan proportional to their bodies. All colors are possible, though more natural colors are the most common (grays, browns, white, red and black).

Diet
Similar in diet to most birds, they usual prefer seeds, nuts, bugs and berries. They are not picky or real sensitive eaters, adapting easily to local foods.

Breeding
Thunder Birds are monogamous for the most part, pairing up for a breeding season and usually staying together until the fledglings can fly. Females usually lay two or three eggs at a time.
